General On-Air Activity: Give us a general "feel" for Amateur Radio activity in your area. Busy, asleep, a few active QSO clusters, etc. Simplex Specific Activities: How prevalent is simplex communications? Are there informal goups, formal nets, both? Any particular "focus" or just general ragchews? Most-Used Repeaters: We don't want a "repeater directory" here. List no more than a handful of repeaters that you would give a call on if you needed help and really needed an answer! Club Data: Tell us about the Amateur Radio Clubs in your area. When and where do they meet? What activities are they involved in? How can we contact them? Web Address? Weather Watch Activities: Are there organized Weather Watch or Storm Spotter groups in your city? Who are they? On what frequencies can they be found by storm-weary travelers? License Testing/Classes: Are there Amateur Radio license testing opportunities availabale? How about entry-level classes? Give us as many details as possible. Ham Hangouts: Many areas have restaurants, watering holes, etc. when local hams gather for eyeball QSOs. Tell us about any in your area if necomers would be welcome if they dropped in. Electronics Stores: Are there any places to buy Amateur Radio gear in your city. How about a good location for parts, etc? We should probably leave out the local Radio Shack unless yours is way above average! Recommended Eateries: We're looking for non-chain restaurants, near the main highways, that also have good food! The big chains will surely be visible from the road. We're looking for the other great places to eat. Comments: Add anything here that you think needs to be added and that you didn't find a category for above. |
