THE PARACHUTE AERONAUTICAL MOBILE VERY SPECIAL OPERATION. WHO'S GOING TO DO ONE?

It's been many years since my last skydive, but I still have dreams about being in freefall. For me, the fun was over once the parachute opened, as long as it did open. I have had it "not open" before! That's me above, at about 5,000 feet over Grandfield, Oklahoma. At 100 MPH, everyone is ugly in freefall!

Anyway, I had plans to operate 2-Meter FM Simplex while under canopy, but I just never got around to it. I thought I would open the parachute high, about 10,000 feet, to give me a lot of sailing time, enough to make a few contacts. This would be a "hop & pop", robbing me of my precious freefall time, but for a good cause.

I was going to notify as many people as possible before the skydive, so they could be "standing by" during that relatively short "window". I had also planned to make two or three skydives in order to rack up the number of contacts.

But, as I said, I never got around to it. Has anyone out there done a Parachute Aeronautical Mobile operation before? Does anyone want to do one?

How about it? We'll adorn the Home Page with photos and stories of your grand feat!

I'm waiting to hear from you!
