REPEATERS

We do not ask that Amateur Radio Operators reject repeater use. We do ask that SPS members maintain, or improve, their VHF stations to ensure that they can effectively communicate within their city limits without the use of repeaters. This may mean raising your antenna, using a more effective antenna, using an amplifier, using a pre-amplifier, or a combination of these things. If you enjoy repeater operation, by all means use repeaters. Just be sure to regularly evaluate your simplex capabilities. Again, if your VHF station is a Handie Talklie, you are at a serious disadvantage.
