The Simplex Preservation Society is an alternative to the traditional repeater-centric Amateur Radio club. However, we don't ask that you give up repeaters or any other mode of communications. All we ask is that you monitor 146.520 MHz, make local 2-Meter FM Simplex contacts on a regular basis, and maintain your capability to operate independently of repeaters and the Internet should the need to do so arise.
